A Little Update
Hello, all I ever do is work on my novel!
Warning: this blog is all over the place and rambly.
Blame my book for any delays with writing this blog. It's my top priority! Originally, I was writing a fantasy series, and conveniently I'm taking a Fiction Writing course that I was able to share my story in. But of course, like a true writer, I scrapped that whole project at the LAST minute before my midterm portfolio was due, and went back to one of my old works-in-progress. I ended up handing in 40 pages of entirely new material for my professor.
My spring break was the first week of March - before all my friends, but luckily I spent time with my boyfriend and his mom came to visit which was really nice! Other than that all I really did was write and clean my room.
I have read three books this month, so far!
When I wrote the first draft of this post I was in the middle of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, but I have since finished it and absolutely LOVED it! It's such a heartwarming story, and so important. I'm ready to see the movie now, and I can't wait!

The two others I read were the witch doesn't burn in this one by Amanda Lovelace and DROPKICKromance by her husband Cyrus Parker. This is Amanda's second poetry and collection and Cyrus's first, and since I loved her first collection I was extremely excited for both of these releases. Witch is centered around women empowerment, sexual assault, and rape culture which are very prevalent with the TimesUp and Me Too movements. While, DROPKICKromance centers around a toxic relationship to finding love again.
I saw Black Panther this month as well and it was incredible. Even the "villain" in the movie was likable. The women were portrayed wonderfully as smart and strong warriors. I would be happy with just a movie of all of them, like damn. From the moment I saw the Black Panther in Civil War I knew I was going to love him, and his movie surely did not disappoint.
I've also been listening to a lot of good tunes. I made a playlist on my Spotify inspired by my book, as well as a typical one with my current favorite songs. I've been listening to "Remembering Sunday" by All Time Low non-stop - which contrast with my mood immensely, but it's SUCH a good song.

I started listening to Lil Peep, which makes me sad since I never appreciated him when he was alive. My favorite song by him is "Better Off (Dying)". Again, another sad song, but I promise I'm the happiest I've ever been, lol.
I'm currently in the midst of putting together my college's literary magazine, as President, and it will be on its way to be printed very shortly :') A few people who submitted and other club members, including myself, will be showcasing it at our Academic Symposium and I'm so excited!
I also have a billion essays to write and a workshop assignment I need to get ready for next week.
Lots of exciting things are happening! And that's pretty much it...
Here I am, hello! Hope you all had a good week
xx
